Our Mission
The Rebecca Griffin Memorial Scholarship honors Rebecca “Becky” Griffin, a global trade lawyer, avid traveler, and devoted mother. Becky died on her 36th birthday (December 28, 2006) from an extremely rare childbirth complication known as an Amniotic Fluid Embolism (“AFE”) while giving birth to her third child. She left behind her husband, her 5-year-old son Ben, her 4-year-old daughter Katia, and her newborn baby Jimmy. Becky’s daughter founded this memorial scholarship to help children and families who have lost their mothers to childbirth related complications.
